Refund & Cancellation Policy

Lex Source IO operates on a credit-based billing model. AI queries, document analyses, monitoring alerts, and other Platform features consume credits at rates displayed on the Platform before each operation.

Credits are allocated through subscription plans (monthly or annual) and can be supplemented through one-time credit top-up purchases. Credit balances, consumption history, and transaction records are available in your Billing Dashboard.

Unused subscription credits roll over to the next billing period for active subscriptions, up to a maximum rollover cap specified in your plan details. Top-up credits do not expire while your account remains active.

New users receive 10 free AI credits upon successful account registration. These credits allow you to evaluate the Platform before committing to a paid plan.

Free credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and are non-refundable. They are provided for evaluation purposes only.

Free credits may expire after 90 days of account inactivity. Active use of the Platform (at least one query or login per 90-day period) maintains your free credit balance.

Lex Source IO reserves the right to modify the free credit allocation amount or terms with reasonable notice. Existing free credit balances at the time of any change will be honored.

Subscription plans are available on monthly and annual billing cycles. Plan details — including credit allocations, feature access, support levels, and pricing — are displayed on the Pricing page at the time of purchase.

Plan upgrades take effect immediately, with a prorated charge for the remainder of the billing period. Plan downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing cycle.

Annual plans are billed upfront for the full year and include a discount compared to monthly billing. The annual commitment is for the full 12-month term.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Billing Settings page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access to your plan features and remaining credits until that date.

To cancel: Navigate to Billing → Settings → Cancel Subscription. You will receive a confirmation email with the effective cancellation date and any applicable refund details.

Upon cancellation, your account reverts to the free tier at the end of the billing period. You retain access to your account, research history, and any remaining top-up credits. Subscription-allocated credits expire at the end of the billing period.

Data retention after cancellation is governed by our Privacy Policy. You may request account deletion and data removal through your account settings or by contacting support.

We encourage users to contact Lex Source IO support before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with their financial institution. Most billing issues can be resolved promptly through direct communication.

Initiating a chargeback without first contacting support may result in immediate account suspension pending resolution of the dispute.

Fraudulent chargebacks — those initiated for legitimate charges where services were delivered as described — will be contested with the payment provider and may result in permanent account termination.

If a chargeback is resolved in Lex Source IO's favor, any account suspension will be lifted. If resolved in the user's favor, the standard refund policy applies.

Supported payment methods are listed on the Pricing page and may include mobile money (M-Pesa), credit/debit cards, and bank transfers, depending on your location.

Prices are displayed in Kenyan Shillings (KES) and United States Dollars (USD). The currency used for billing is determined by your selected payment method and location.

All prices include applicable taxes where required by law. Tax amounts are displayed at checkout before payment confirmation.

Lex Source IO uses secure third-party payment processors. We do not store full credit card numbers or mobile money PINs on our servers.

Lex Source IO reserves the right to modify pricing for subscription plans and credit top-ups. Price changes take effect as follows:

For refund requests, billing questions, or payment issues, contact us through the Billing Support channel. Include your account email, transaction reference, and a description of the issue.

Refund requests are typically processed within 5–10 business days of approval. The time for funds to appear in your account depends on your payment method and financial institution.
